Locating the Serial Number – Chicago built Schwinn serial numbers are found on the left rear axle-hanger or fork-end on the frame. If letters were used for date codes, they skipped the letters “I” and “O” as they looked too much like numbers. This scheme is for all Chicago built non-Paramount models excluding Superiors and Super Sports whose serial numbers are located on the left rear axle hanger and consist of a single letter code for the month [again, skip"I” and"O”], the last digit of the year and a 3-digit sequential build number — e. The Super Sports with Huret dropouts seem to have used a two digit year ‘C ‘ — March, , th frame. The Le Tour and Super Le Tour models had their serial numbers on the left rear axle hanger and many began with an ‘S’, followed by the Japan Made numbering system. The number will have a production month letter in either the first or second position and a production year number in the other first or second position. Beginning in the s, many Schwinns feature a 4-digit stamp on the head badge that represents the assembly date and consists of the Julian day and the last digit of the year decodes to the th day of or — use decals and components to determine the decade. The Julian dating was adopted for Schwinn’s domestic production in See the 4-digit date code next to the “I”? This was used to connect the remainder of a production run that spilled over into January of the next year.

I’ve looked around a bit here and other forums but it seems like all the info is rather old so I wanted to see if there was any new info I should know about. Also I have a couple of particular problems that aren’t covered: I used to ride to class through college and law school and the crankshaft would come off every two weeks, the guy who sold me the bike was a good guy so he kept trying to repair the problem, replace the parts, etc. At one point he got fed up and gave me the highest end crankshaft he had in the store.
It still lasted only two weeks. Eventually I got sick of it and red loctited the crankshaft on after completely degreasing it , that actually lasted 2 months.

I heard about this conference several years ago from fellow travel bloggers. The conference is organized by the Wanderful Community. Founded by Beth Santos, Wanderful connects female travelers all around the world. When this location was announced last year, I knew I had to be there. Since I met so many amazing women in the travel industry that were also attending WITS for the first time, I asked them to share their experiences as well. The following responses are based on these questions about the Women in Travel Summit: What did you enjoy most about the conference?
Which session or sessions did you find most helpful or interesting and why? Did you do any tours? If so, which tour and do you have any feedback? What would you like to share with the WITS organizers about the conference overall? I have been trying to get to WITS but work or travel schedules always interfered. The feedback I received from travel bloggers prior to the conference was that it was geared more towards beginners.
